Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Patient Care Team. The RN uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate direct patient care, collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, and provides sound clinical decisions for quality care.

Requirements include graduation from a School of Nursing, a current Louisiana RN license (or compact license), BLS-CPR certification, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Nursing.
• Current Louisiana RN licensed or compact state license.
• BLS-CPR Certified.
• Ability to read, write and speak intelligible English.
• Requires emotional stability and resilience; adaptable to change and delegated responsibilities.
• Must be able to learn quickly, analyze problems and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Possesses competency in use of technology and computers.
• Demonstrates competency in the use of Smart Pumps.
• Demonstrates competency in administering medication.
• Has knowledge of and utilizes unit specific equipment appropriately.
• Organizes patient care and general unit activities with delegation as appropriate.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in planning and organizing patient care from admit to discharge.
• Participates in the multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Follows evidence-based policies and procedures to guide nursing practice.
• Demonstrates bedside reporting, and other Service Excellence practices.
• Educates patients and families, and documents appropriately.
• Documents accurately according to department policy.
• Is knowledgeable of Unit PI plan and suggests improvements.

Education

Graduate of School of Nursing

Current Louisiana Registered Nurse license

Compact state license acceptable

BLS-CPR Certified

English language proficiency

Emotional stability and resilience
