Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care as part of the Patient Care Team. The RN uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, collaborates with interdisciplinary colleagues from admission to discharge, and delivers hands-on nursing care with sound clinical judgment.

Qualifications include graduation from an approved School of Nursing, current Louisiana RN license (or compact state), and BLS-CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Nursing.
• Current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or compact state license.
• BLS-CPR Certified.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; communicate effectively with superiors, peers, and others.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care.
• Administers medications and monitors effects.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in planning and organizing patient care from admit to discharge.
• Documents care accurately according to department policy.
• Educates patients and families, and documents appropriately.
• Participates in Unit PI plan and contributes to process improvements.
