Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care and coordinate across disciplines using the nursing process. This full-time role includes medication administration, patient education, and ongoing performance improvement participation.

The position requires an Associate's degree in nursing (Bachelor's preferred) and a current RN license in Kentucky, with BCLS mandatory and ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice.
• BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

How You'll Contribute

• Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
• Exposure: Regular occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials.
• Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements

Education
