Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for outpatient surgical care. You will provide direct patient care, perform planned interventions, document accurately, and coordinate with the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role requires an active Kentucky RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and a commitment to a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
• Current RN license in Kentucky is required, with BLS/ACLS/PALS.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in outpatient surgical setting using nursing process.
• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines including transfers and discharges.
• Educates patients and families appropriate to age and condition.
• Advocates for patient well-being and participates in performance improvement.

How You'll Contribute

• Provides direct patient care in the outpatient surgical setting using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and families; provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

What we are looking for:

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

License/Certifications

• Current RN license in state of practice;
• Active Kentucky license (single state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
