Job summary

North Alabama Shoals Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health team. You will provide patient-centered mental health care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and support autonomy and compassionate care in a supportive environment.

We require an active RN license, an Associate's Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), and BLS within 14 days of hire; one year of nursing experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support certification required within 14 days of hire
• Requires one year of nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute
