Job summary

North Alabama Shoals Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an experienced RN for a 3 x 12 night shift. The role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care across rehab units, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and supporting patient education and family engagement.

Required: current RN license, ADN (BSN preferred), BLS within 14 days of hire, and 1 year of nursing experience. Sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits offered by Lifepoint Health.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration and other clinical tasks.
• Documents patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and participates in care coordination with other disciplines.
• Advocates for patient well-being and participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule: 3 x 12 Full Time- Nights

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 14 days of hire.
• Requires one year of nursing experience.
