Job summary

Ascension in Wichita, KS is hiring a Registered Nurse for the General Surgery & Trauma unit. This full-time, day-shift position offers 7:00am-7:00pm with a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 and opportunities for tuition discounts through our academic partnership with Wichita State University.

Qualifications

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Lead holistic patient care by executing personalized care plans and monitoring clinical conditions to ensure every patient receives safe, evidence-based treatment.
• Orchestrate the multidisciplinary team as the primary care coordinator, ensuring seamless communication between specialties for a unified approach to healing.
• Champion patient advocacy by accurately translating physician orders into bedside action while maintaining the highest standards of clinical protocol.
• Navigate the transition to home by proactively assessing and coordinating discharge needs, ensuring patients and families feel confident and supported beyond our walls.
