Job summary

Black Women's Mental Health Institute seeks an RN for travel assignments across underserved communities. You will provide individualized care, work with physicians and teams to develop plans, and manage care from prevention to follow-up.

The role requires an active RN license, a preference for a Bachelor’s degree, and at least one year of nursing experience including travel. Travel-friendly housing stipends may apply.

Qualifications

• Reside at least 60 miles from the assigned facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized patient care using the nursing process: assess, diagnose, plan, implement, evaluate.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans.
• Deliver care across prevention, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up phases.
• Plan and coordinate care, conduct assessments, educate patients, triage, and perform nursing interventions.
• Adhere to nursing standards and state Nurse Practice Acts and ethics.

Responsibilities Include

• Providing individualized patient care by utilizing the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Delivering care across all phases—from prevention and health maintenance to diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
• Planning and coordinating patient care, conducting assessments, patient education, triage, and nursing interventions.
• Practicing within the scope of nursing standards and adhering to state-specific Nurse Practice Acts and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Valid, unencumbered RN license in the practicing state or multistate licensure if applicable.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience, including at least six months of travel experience.
• Reside at least 60 miles from the assigned facility.
• Maintain required competencies and certifications.

• Work rotating 12-hour shifts with weekly hours totaling 36.
