Job summary

St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center is seeking a Medical Surgical Float Pool RN to provide comprehensive patient care within an interdisciplinary team.

You will assess patients, develop and modify plans of care, administer meds, and support discharge planning. The role emphasizes collaboration with clinicians, education for patients and families, and adherence to hospital policies while contributing to our model of exceptional nursing care.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as an RN.
  • ADN or BSN preferred for education.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and revise the plan of care based on patient response.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to meet patient goals.
  • Administer medications and complete treatments per policy.
  • Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff per standards.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care.
  • Educate patients and families on care and treatments.
  • Support discharge planning with care team.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Medical Surgical Float Pool Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, and implementing and evaluating care. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, you will work collaboratively with the other members to ensure safe and accurate delivery of care.

  • You will formulate a plan of care, revise the plan based on the patient’s response to treatment and regularly evaluate plan for effectiveness
  • You will consult and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate and revise the plan of care to meet the patient’s needs and goals
  • You will administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy
  • You will delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice
  • You will provide pre- and post-operative patient care
  • You will provide education materials to patients and families on care and treatments
  • You will facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team
Experience
  • 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Education
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
License and Certifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
