Job summary

St. David's HealthCare is seeking a Medical Surgical Float Pool Registered Nurse in Round Rock, Texas. In this role, you'll assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with a healthcare team to ensure effective patient care delivery.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 60 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.

• Consult with the interdisciplinary team for developing care plans.
• Administer medications according to hospital policy.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care.
• Facilitate discharge plans with the care team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Medical Surgical Float Pool Registered Nurse, you will perform patient assessments, develop plans of care, and implement and evaluate care. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you’ll collaborate with other members to ensure safe and accurate delivery of care.

Responsibilities

• Formulate a plan of care and revise it based on patient response, regularly evaluating effectiveness
• Consult and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate, and revise the plan of care to meet patient needs and goals
• Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy
• Delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff per standards of practice
• Provide pre‑ and post‑operative patient care
• Provide educational materials to patients and families on care and treatments
• Facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team

Experience

• At least 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

License and Certifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 60 months of employment start date
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse license
• Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in Nursing
