Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have nursing degree or diploma from an accredited program.
• Licensed to practice in Tennessee.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS within 6 months for relevant units.
• PALS within 6 months for pediatric areas.
• ENPC/TNCC within 6 months for pediatric/emergency where applicable.
• NVCI certification within 6 months where required.
• For Critical Care: CCRN within two years.

Responsibilities

• Perform a comprehensive assessment on all patients within admission timeframes using observation, communication and examination.
• Plan individualized care identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnoses, standards of care and interventions.
• Plan for patient teaching, discharge and post-discharge needs as appropriate.
• Document accurately and timely, reassess patient condition and modify care plan as needed.
• Administer medications safely and use hospital equipment properly.
• Maintain a healing environment, professional appearance, and safety in the unit.
• Collaborate with healthcare team and facilitate staff development as needed.
• Manage telemetry and related monitoring equipment in assigned units.
