Position Summary:

The Float Registered Nurse provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly and is individualized to various needs such as impairments (hearing, sight), substance abuse, non-English speaking patients, and potential victims of abuse. The nurse incorporates knowledge of patient rights, and aligns with our mission, vision, and values into nursing practice.

The Float Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for the quality of nursing care provided, including health maintenance, education, counseling, collaborative planning, and ensuring dignity in death when applicable. The nurse may delegate tasks to other registered nurses or healthcare personnel within their scope of practice, maintaining ultimate responsibility for patient outcomes.

Essential skills include excellent assessment, clinical, organizational, and computer skills, as well as charge capabilities. The nurse must be able to lift, transfer, and move patients, communicate effectively in English, and perform mathematical computations for treatment protocols.

Requirements:

• Education: Nursing degree required: diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years required.
• Experience: Previous RN experience required.
• Certification/Licensure: MA RN license, BLS, ACLS required.
• Software/Hardware: Meditech
