Job description

Schedule:

36 Hours, Evenings/Nights, 7p-7a, Every Other Weekend, Full-Time, Benefit Eligible

Position Summary:

The Critical Care RN assumes full responsibility for the quality of nursing care provided to patients and their family members. This includes health maintenance, teaching, counseling, collaborative planning, and the comfort and restoration of patients' optimal functioning. The role may also involve ensuring a dignified death for patients. Within the scope of their education and the Nurse Practice Act, the RN may delegate nursing activities to other RNs and healthcare personnel. The Critical Care RN provides individualized care addressing the needs of all age groups from adolescents to the elderly, including patients with impairments such as hearing or sight difficulties, substance abuse issues, non-English speakers, and potential victims of abuse. The RN incorporates knowledge of patient rights, and aligns with the organization's mission, vision, and values in their practice.

Required Knowledge & Skills:
  1. Education: Nursing Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years required.
  2. Experience: 3 years critical care experience or completion of BMCHS transition to Critical Care course. Must maintain required competencies for CCU setting.
  3. Certification/Licensure: MA RN license, BLS, ACLS, TCAR or TNCC.
