Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking RNs to deliver comprehensive patient care using the nursing process, including health promotion and illness prevention, in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

Required licensure as an RN in Alabama and BLS certification; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit. The role offers full-time and part-time shifts with weekday and weekend options and benefits for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required or to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care for and counsel patients in health promotion and illness prevention.
• Identify patient needs using the AACN Synergy Model and coordinate nursing care accordingly.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care for patients and families.
• Deliver patient care in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team under physician/clinical supervision.
