Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Ohio is seeking a Registered Nurse for Preop/PACU/PAT/Phase 2 to care for patients across the surgical continuum, including OR, Endoscopy, and radiology suites. This fast-paced team operates at a 1:2 nurse-patient ratio in PACU, with hourly new preop intakes, cross-training in preop, PAT, PACU and Phase 2, and strong mentorship from tenured colleagues.

Qualifications

• Graduate from school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• For Casual RNs, 2 years of experience is required.
• New graduates with less than one year of clinical experience are enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care, ensures patient safety, and promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives.
• Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients.
• Collaborates with patient and family to develop and implement a plan of care.
• Communicates pertinent information to the team in a timely manner.
• Keeps patient/family apprised and updated.
• Documents assessments, interventions and outcomes according to standards.
• Assumes responsibility for care provided and documented by other staff as appropriate.
