Mount Carmel Health System in Ohio is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Preop/PACU department. The role involves providing caring, evidence-based nursing in a fast-paced environment with a 1:2 nurse-patient ratio in PACU and hourly preop arrivals.
Nurses are cross-trained across preop and PACU and have access to mentorship from tenured staff. The RN will collaborate with the team, deliver holistic patient care, and follow organizational standards, policies, and nursing process guidelines.

The Preop/PACU department at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s averages about 30 cases per day. The registered nurse would expect to see pre-surgical and post-surgical care cases. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:2 in the PACU and a new patient can be expected in preop every hour. This is a face paced department with great energy and teamwork. Staff are cross trained in preop and PACU which offers the opportunity to gain additional skills and interact with different patient populations. This team is comprised of tenured staff that are always happy to mentor new colleagues.
The Registered Nurse RN , within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse RN , collaborates in the spirit of teamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.
