Job summary

BayCare’s Wesley Chapel Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse to join the ER team delivering expert, compassionate care. You will provide patient-centered nursing using the nursing process, coordinate with the care team, and respond to emergencies in a fast-paced setting. ER experience and current certifications are required, with commitment to safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• RN License is required.
• Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing.
• 1 year ER RN experience.
• BLS certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
• PALS certification (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Provide hospital-based nursing in the ER using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other health care team members.
• Organize and update care plans in collaboration with patients and families.
• Identify at-risk patients and prepare the room environment accordingly.
• Monitor vitals, document assessments, and respond to emergencies as needed.

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year registered nurse ER experience
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse - responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
