Job summary

BayCare Health System's Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join the ER team. This full-time role offers shift 6:45 PM–7:15 AM, with every other weekend and no on-call requirement.

As an RN you will deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, perform assessments, collaborate with physicians, and ensure safety and compassionate service for all patients.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing.
• Diploma/ASN/BSN in Nursing.
• Minimum 1 year ER nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in hospital ER using established nursing processes and clinical standards.
• Delegate appropriate care to other health care team members.
• Organize and update care plans in collaboration with patients and families.
• Monitor vitals, identify changes in patient condition and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort and document care accurately.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year registered nurse ER experience
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
