Job summary

BayCare Health System in Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City. The role requires clinical excellence, compassionate patient care, and adherence to nursing processes within a hospital setting.

The position is full-time, in-person, with a shift from 12:45 PM to 1:15 AM and every other weekend requirement. BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications and ER experience are needed.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Diploma/Associate/Bachelor in Nursing or higher.
• 1 year ER nursing experience.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Ability to work in a hospital setting with nursing process.

Responsibilities

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients using nursing processes.
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other health care team members.
• Organizes and prioritizes plans of care with patients and families.
• Identifies patients at risk and prepares room and environment accordingly.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient vitals and assessments to the team.
• Responds to medical emergencies for critical patients.
• Maintains professional accountability and development.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year registered nurse ER experience
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
