Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the ER at St. Joseph’s Hospital North in Lutz, FL. The role is full-time, with a 2:45 PM – 3:15 AM schedule and every other weekend, in-person.

Expectations include delivering high-quality, compassionate care using nursing processes, along with collaboration with the health care team. Requirements include an active RN license, nursing degree, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS).

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• 1 year ER experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a hospital setting using nursing process and standards.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to health care team members.
• Plan and update patient care in collaboration with patients and families.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in condition.
• React to medical emergencies for critical patients.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year registered nurse ER experience
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
