Job summary

BayCare in Winter Haven is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time hospital role. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in a high-volume ER setting while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and timely treatment.

Qualifications

• RN license required and current.
• Bachelor's/Associate's/ Diploma in Nursing as applicable.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a hospital setting using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with the health care team to plan and adjust care plans.
• Monitor and document patient vitals and responses to treatment.
• Identify patients at risk and maintain a safe care environment.
• Respond to medical emergencies and escalate as needed.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families to explain procedures.

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
