Job summary

BayCare in the Tampa Bay area is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our ER team on a part‑time basis. You will deliver compassionate, high‑quality care built on our clinical excellence and patient advocacy.

This role requires an active RN license and a nursing degree (Diploma/Associate/Bachelor). BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications are expected. Shift: 2:45 PM – 3:15 AM; every other weekend; always in person.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing (state of Florida)
• Nursing degree (Diploma/Associate/Bachelor) in Nursing
• BLS certification from ARC or AHA
• ACLS certification from AHA
• PALS certification from AHA

Responsibilities

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other health care team members
• Organizes and prioritizes plan of care in collaboration with patients, families and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury and prepares room environment
• Monitors and communicates patient vitals and assessments to the care team
• Responds to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Demonstrates high emotional intelligence to enhance patient care experiences
• Maintains professional accountability and development

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse - responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
