Job summary

Ascension Via Christi West ER in Wichita, KS is hiring an experienced RN for the Emergency Department. You will deliver direct bedside care following established protocols and collaborate with the care team to ensure patient safety and outcomes.

You will create individualized care plans, monitor patient status, and coordinate efficient discharge with the broader team. Tuition discounts and academic partnerships support your growth and development.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or professional licensure.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead the delivery of compassionate, direct bedside care by following established clinical protocols to ensure optimal patient safety and outcomes.
• Create, manage and continuously evaluate individualized care plans while monitoring patient condition and communicating vital status changes to the clinical team.
• Serve as the primary coordinator across all medical disciplines to deliver a seamless, collaborative healthcare experience.
• Execute physician and nursing orders accurately while evaluating, planning and coordinating efficient discharge transitions alongside the broader care team.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.
