Ascension is seeking a Night shift, Full-time ICU Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. You will monitor critically ill patients, manage ventilators and IV therapies, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver expert patient care.

Minimum requirements include ALS and BLS within specified windows, Wisconsin RN licensure, and a nursing diploma. The role emphasizes education for patients and families and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire.
• RN credentialed from Wisconsin Board of Nursing or multi-state license.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients, monitoring vital signs and hemodynamic status with ventilators, cardiac monitors and infusion pumps.
• Administer high‑risk medications and IV drips with careful observation for adverse reactions.
• Perform detailed patient assessments, recognize changes in condition, and respond rapidly to emergencies.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Educate and support patients and families, explaining procedures, plans of care and prognosis during stressful situations.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Licensure/Certification/Registration

What minimum requirements you’ll need

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.
