Job summary

Ascension seeks a Registered Nurse in Mequon, WI for the Emergency Department. You will deliver compassionate direct patient care, document progress, and ensure orders are carried out promptly while coordinating with the multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.

You will participate in comprehensive discharge planning, assess patient needs, and collaborate to ensure safe transitions home, with a focus on high-quality, protocol-driven care.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support within 180 days of hire or transfer date (ALS); American Heart Association/Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire or transfer date; American Heart Association/Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from Wisconsin Board of Nursing (prior to hire) or multi-state/Compact license.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred (not required).

• Manage the full patient care journey, document progress, execute orders promptly, and communicate critical updates to the team.

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality direct patient care that strictly adheres to established organizational protocols and best practices.
• Manage the entire patient care journey, meticulously documenting progress, executing physician and nursing orders promptly, and communicating critical status updates to the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Coordinate care across all clinical disciplines, acting as the primary liaison to guarantee seamless and well-integrated patient services and ensure optimal care outcomes.
• Facilitate comprehensive discharge planning by assessing patient needs and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure a safe, smooth, and successful transition home.

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.
