Job summary

Ascension in Appleton, WI, is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts (three 12-hour shifts per week, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM) with weekend and holiday rotation. You will lead patient care plans, document thoroughly, and coordinate multi-disciplinary care from admission to discharge.

The role requires an RN license in Wisconsin, a nursing diploma, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire. Strong documentation and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 30 days of hire date.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of individualized patient care plans to ensure recovery progress and high-quality outcomes.
• Document the patient care journey with meticulous detail, recording conditions and critical updates to the interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinate all clinical disciplines to ensure a seamless, patient-centered experience from admission through discharge.
• Execute physician and nursing orders promptly and precisely to maintain safety and treatment adherence.
• Assess discharge needs early and collaborate on comprehensive transition plans for a safe continuum of care.

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.
