Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL is seeking a Dialysis Staff RN for full-time days (7a-7:30p) with call responsibilities in the Dialysis department. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive patient care within the Inpatient Renal Care Unit and coordinating teaching for patients and families.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license, BLS, and preferably nephrology or apheresis certification, with 2+ years of acute care hemodialysis experience.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The Dialysis Staff RN is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Inpatient Renal Care Unit. Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Can respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Certification in Nephrology Nursing, Apheresis Nursing or both is highly encouraged.
• Two Years Experience in Acute Care Hemodialysis nursing, preferred.
