Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is seeking an RN to deliver patient care within a multidisciplinary team, utilizing the nursing process and professional standards. The role focuses on developing and implementing care plans, coordinating discharge planning, and guiding nursing staff.

The ideal candidate will possess Iowa RN licensure, be a graduate of an accredited RN program, and may have BSN preferred. Acute care experience is welcome, and new RN graduates will be trained.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa or qualified multi-state license.
• Graduate of an accredited RN program required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Previous experience in acute care preferred but not required.
• Will train new RN graduates.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and evaluates patient needs and documents responses to nursing interventions with the multidisciplinary team.
• Develops and implements the plan of care, including discharge planning, based on standards of nursing practice.
• Guides and directs patient care activities using clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.
• Provides daily direction to Nurse Assistants.
• Implements learning opportunities to meet patient/family education needs.
