Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team. The role supports patient-centered care, following Mercy’s standards to care for patients with independence and compassion. You will work with unit staff to identify problems, plan care, and educate patients and families.

The position offers a Day/Evening shift, 40 hours per week, with opportunities for professional development and a $15,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants.

Qualifications

• Sound background in basic nursing principles and procedures.
• Demonstrates competency in unit specific skills.
• Demonstrates ability to provide safe and effective basic nursing care. Role Models exemplary customer service skills including verbal and non-verbal skills and proper phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Communicates information during handoffs to ensure patient outcomes.
• Assesses, plans, intervenes, coordinates and evaluates care.
• Maintains real-time documentation per policy.
• Directs licensed and unlicensed staff in care as assigned.
• Responds to emergencies within scope of practice.
• Promotes patient safety practices throughout the patient experience.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team.
