Qualifications

• Sound background in basic nursing principles and procedures.

• Previous RN experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred.

• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse / Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates information during handoffs to ensure best patient outcomes.
• Performs nursing assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluations.
• Maintains real-time documentation of nursing care.
• Delegates to licensed and non-licensed staff as assigned.
• Provides ongoing education to patients and families.
• Adheres to Mercy’s safety guidelines and protocols.
