Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is actively seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our CVU floor with potential cross-training in ICU. We offer a competitive sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and a full-time day shift schedule (7:00 am–7:00 pm) with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Qualified candidates will possess an Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred), active Delaware RN licensure, BLS, and at least two years of step-down/PCU

Qualifications

• RN licensure in the state of Delaware is required.
• BLS certification required.
• At least two years of step-down or PCU experience.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards and conducts comprehensive patient assessments.
• Completes a Nursing Assessment form on each patient within 24 hours.
• Identifies patient needs from objective data and documents appropriately.
• Implements nursing actions tailored to each patient requiring intervention.
• Makes clinical decisions with sound judgment based on knowledge.
• Communicates with patient/family about care plans and expected outcomes; documents discussions.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care.
• Educates and documents patient in follow-up care/prep for transfer or discharge.
• Evaluates patient and family understanding of instructions.

Shift Full-time day shift (7:00 am - 7:00 pm) / Every other weekend & rotating holiday's

Responsibilities include:

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Completes a Nursing Assessment form on each patient within 24 hours.
• Identifies patient needs based on objective data and follows through with appropriate documentation.
• Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient that needs to be identified.
• Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
• Discusses with and includes patient and/or family, significant other about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents same.
• Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.
• Instructs and documents patient in follow-up care/ activities in preparation for transfer/discharge.
• Evaluates the patient's/significant other's understanding of instructions.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor Degree in Nursing highly preferred
• Active RN Licensure in State of Delaware
• BLS Certification required
• At least two years' of step down or PCU experience required
• Must obtain ACLS Certification within 3 months of hire
