Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse Coordinator ICU at UCF Lake Nona Hospital in the Orlando area. The CNC directs nursing care, coordinates unit functions and serves as a resource for staff to support exceptional patient outcomes and a strong nursing program.

Responsibilities include guiding staff, coordinating patient placement, leading care conferences, and ensuring timely orders. Florida licensure and ACLS/BCLS within timelines are required, with 1+ year acute care experience

Qualifications

  • Florida RN license required; Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain Florida license after relocation.
  • 1+ years RN experience in acute care preferred
  • Charge experience required
  • Nursing degree (Diploma/Associate/BSN) preferred
  • NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start
  • BCLS/ACLS qualifications required within specified timelines

  • Identify and address educational needs of the unit.

In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

What you will do in this role:

  • Accept accountability for directing and overseeing staff roles on unit.
  • Coordinate patient placement within the unit according to acuity, skill mix and staff availability.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing educational needs of the unit.
  • Participate and direct patient care conferences, addressing such issues as patient discharge needs.
  • Assures that rounds are made with physicians.
  • Keep informed of patient condition changes, making appropriate clinical decisions.
  • Accountable for orders, assuring that they are appropriate and carried out in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

*Needs CV experience since unit is growing in that area

  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
  • 1+ years of RN experience in an acute care environment preferred
  • Charge experience required
  • Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree, BSN is preferred
  • NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of start
  • American Heart Association ACLS Provider issued card required within 6 months of employment start date
