Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Aurora campus as a Full-Time Classroom Instructor for the Practical Nursing (LPN) program. This role transitions an RN from clinical shifts to a stable, Monday–Friday academic position focused on teaching and mentoring students.

You will deliver core nursing theory, guide simulation-based learning, and support NCLEX-PN readiness while coordinating with faculty to ensure program quality and accreditation continuity.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing Education with national accreditation.
• Minimum three years RN experience with direct patient care.
• Current, unrestricted Colorado RN license (or active Compact multi-state privilege).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; proficiency with MS Office and educational apps.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom lectures and simulation-lab instruction using approved PN curriculum.
• Prepare structured lesson plans aligned with course syllabi and objectives.
• Coach students toward NCLEX-PN readiness through remediation and exam strategies.
• Collaborate with Program Director to evaluate and enhance the nursing program.
• Maintain student records, provide academic counseling, and monitor progression.
• Oversee skills lab readiness and inventory; mentor new faculty.

Position Summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Practical Nursing (LPN) program as a Full-Time Classroom Instructor at our Aurora campus. This role is ideal for an RN who wants to transition from long clinical shifts into a stable, Monday–Friday academic position focused on teaching, mentoring, and shaping the next generation of Licensed Practical Nurses.

As the primary on-campus instructor, you will deliver core nursing theory, guide students through simulation-based learning, and support their progression toward clinical readiness and NCLEX-PN success. Clinical faculty manage off-site rotations, allowing you to focus fully on classroom excellence and student development.

Weekly Schedule Breakdown

• Monday – Thursday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM): Lead classroom lectures and simulation-lab instruction using the approved Practical Nursing curriculum.
• Friday: Facilitate open-lab practice, provide one-on-one tutoring, reinforce essential clinical skills, and complete academic tracking and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom & Simulation Instruction

• Theory & Lab Delivery: Deliver engaging didactic lectures, skills-lab demonstrations, and simulation-based learning experiences.
• Curriculum Execution: Prepare and deliver structured lesson plans aligned with course syllabi, objectives, and outlines.
• NCLEX-PN Preparation: Coach students toward licensure readiness through structured remediation and exam-focused strategies.

Academic Administration & Program Support

• Program Collaboration: Work with the Program Director to implement, evaluate, and enhance the nursing program of learning.
• Student Advising: Maintain student records, provide academic counseling, and meet regularly with students to support progression.
• Skills Lab Oversight: Manage skills-lab inventory, equipment, and readiness for daily student practice.
• Faculty Coordination: Mentor new faculty and coordinate learning objectives with clinical instructors to ensure smooth alignment between classroom and off-site clinical environments.
• Accreditation: Participate in faculty meetings, program evaluation activities, and nursing accreditation processes.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Master’s degree with a major in nursing (MSN) from a Nursing Education Program with national nursing accreditation.
• Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of occupational (practical) experience as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care.
• Licensure & Credentials: Current, unrestricted Colorado RN license (or active Compact multi-state privilege to practice in Colorado).
• Technical Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and educational computer applications.
