Job summary

Pima Medical Institute in Aurora, CO is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as a Substitute Clinical Instructor (PRN) for the Practical Nursing program. This on-site role leads clinical rotations, mentors students, and ensures continuity of instruction when primary faculty are unavailable.

Qualified candidates will have a BSN (or be enrolled in a BSN program), an active Colorado RN license, at least three years of direct patient care, and one year of teaching or preceptorship.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program from a nationally accredited nursing education program.
• Licensure: Active Colorado RN license (or Compact/Multi-State privilege).
• Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of direct patient care as an RN.
• Teaching Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of nursing teaching, clinical instruction, or preceptorship.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct instruction and supervision of nursing students during clinical rotations.
• Coordinate clinical learning opportunities tailored to student growth needs.
• Evaluate student clinical performance and progress using established standards.
• Maintain currency in clinical practice and evolving nursing standards.
• Assist in implementing and evaluating the nursing program's mission and standards.
• Collaborate with ANIP and Clinical Faculty to ensure instructional quality.
• Follow all institutional and clinical facility policies and procedures.
• Monitor weekly student progress and coordinate Academic Success Plans as needed.
• Maintain attendance logs and ensure compliance with record-keeping policies.
• Advise students on clinical techniques and professional conduct.
