Job summary

Pima Medical Institute in Aurora, CO is seeking a Registered Nurse College Instructor for the Practical Nursing (LPN) program on a part-time, on-site basis. The role offers flexible morning or afternoon blocks, 20 hours per week, Monday–Thursday, with no weekends or holidays.

The instructor will lead didactic and clinical sessions, coordinate with clinical sites, mentor adjuncts, and support student success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or BSN in Nursing from an accredited program; Master’s preferred or at least half of faculty with a Master’s.
• Minimum of three years of RN direct patient care experience.
• Active, unrestricted Colorado RN license (or compact multi-state privilege).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic educational computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver didactic lectures, skills-lab demonstrations, and clinical learning experiences for LPN students.
• Prepare and deliver structured lesson plans using approved course syllabi and objectives.
• Oversee lab setup, equipment readiness, supplies, and safety standards.
• Maintain relationships with clinical sites and align classroom objectives with clinical experiences.
• Collaborate with Program Director to implement and evaluate the learning program.
• Mentor and supervise adjunct instructors; support accreditation processes.
• Assist in applicant interviews and provide student academic counseling and support.
