Job summary

North Carolina Baptist Hospital is seeking a registered nurse to participate in patient-centered nursing care across the continuum. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, collaboration with the care team, and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process, monitoring patients, documenting accurately, and potentially floating to other units as needed. BSN preferred with active RN license and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where nursing services are provided.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and delegation.
• Pursues professional development, completes required education, and maintains certifications.
• Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics and practice ethical decision-making, respecting interdisciplinary roles.
• Appropriate delegation to other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May be required to float to other units or facilities within the service area.
• Must demonstrate knowledge to provide age-appropriate patient care and development considerations.
