Ascension Providence in Waco, TX seeks an experienced nurse supervisor for night shift. You will assign and direct nursing and support staff, planning patient care and coordinating resources to meet daily needs while maintaining productivity standards.

The role requires an active Texas RN license, BLS within 30 days, and at least 1 year of relevant experience. You will contribute to hiring, training and evaluating staff in a fast-paced Med Surg environment.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assigns, directs, educates and monitors nursing and support associates during assigned shifts.

• Meets with staff and exercises independent judgment to plan the shifts, services, and patient care.

• Assesses daily patient care needs and develops and distributes patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given and is accountable for maintaining productivity standards and justifying variances to unit manager or designee.

• Responds to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.

• Facilitates availability of adequate material, resources and supplies.

• Sets priorities appropriate to daily patient/physician dynamics.

• Provides input into hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
