Job summary

Cell Staff is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract, full-time role with 12-hour shifts at a state correctional facility in Virginia. Some weekends may be required, with flexible shift availability.

You will perform health screenings, triage and treat inmates' medical needs, administer medications, monitor cardiac status, and provide mental health evaluations under supervision. Travel stipends may be available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• RN license in good standing in the state where the position is located.

Responsibilities

• Perform health screenings and physical examinations.
• Triage, assess, and treat inmates' chronic and acute medical needs.
• Provide mental health assessments/evaluations as part of care.
• Administer medications and basic nursing interventions.
• Serve as first responder in emergencies and crises.
• Perform routine nursing tasks such as wound care, venipuncture, and IV care.

RN Details

• Full Time Schedules
• Some weekends may be required
• 12 hour shifts
• Contract Position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)

RN Duties

• Performing health screenings and physical examinations
• Triaging, assessing, and treating inmates' chronic, acute, psychological, and medical needs during incarceration
• Assessing and providing mental health care including patient assessments/evaluations
• Administering medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions as directed by medical staff
• Serving as first responder in emergency and crisis situations
• Performing other general nursing duties such as cardiac monitoring, catheter management, venipuncture, IVs, diabetic lines, etc.

RN Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited educational institution
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State in which the position is located. The license MUST be in good standing
