Job summary

Cell Staff is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to join our client facilities in Virginia. This contract position offers full-time schedules, 12-hour shifts, and weekend duties may be required. You will perform health screenings, triage and treat inmates, and support medical staff in emergencies.

Eligible candidates must hold a valid LPN license in good standing and have graduation from an accredited program. Weekly pay and travel stipends are available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited educational institution.
• Licensed as an LPN by the state where the position is located and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Perform health screenings and physical examinations.
• Triage, assess, and treat inmates’ chronic, acute, psychological, and medical needs.
• Administer medications and provide wound care as directed by medical staff.
• Serve as first responder in emergencies and crises.
• Perform general nursing duties including cardiac monitoring and venipuncture.

LPN Details

• Full Time Schedules
• Some weekends may be required
• 12 hour shifts
• Contract Position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)

LPN Duties

• Performing health screenings and physical examinations
• Triaging, assessing, and treating inmates’ chronic, acute, psychological, and medical needs during incarceration
• Assessing and providing mental health care including patient assessments/evaluations
• Administering medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions as directed by medical staff
• Serving as first responder in emergency and crisis situations
• Performing other general nursing duties such as cardiac monitoring, catheter management, venipuncture, IVs, diabetic lines, etc.

LPN Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited educational institution
• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the State in which the position is located. The license MUST be in good standing
