Job summary

Cell Staff is partnering with correctional facilities across Virginia to place Licensed Practical Nurses in full-time roles. This contract position offers 12-hour shifts, weekend requirements, and a supportive clinical team.

As an LPN, you will perform health screenings, administer medications, and provide nursing care inside a correctional setting, with opportunities for travel stipends for qualified candidates. Weekly pay and competitive compensation accompany benefits.

Qualifications

• Licensed LPN in good standing in the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR/CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Ability to perform health assessments and deliver nursing care in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform health screenings and basic physical assessments.
• Triaging and addressing inmates’ medical and mental health needs.
• Administer medications and provide wound care under supervision.
• Support emergency response and crisis intervention.
• Monitor vital signs and manage routine nursing duties.
• Assist with catheter care, venipuncture, and IV management as needed.

LPN Details

• Full Time Schedules
• Some weekends may be required
• 12 hour shifts
• Contract Position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)

LPN Duties

• Performing health screenings and physical examinations
• Triaging, assessing, and treating inmates’ chronic, acute, psychological, and medical needs during incarceration
• Assessing and providing mental health care including patient assessments/evaluations
• Administering medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions as directed by medical staff
• Serving as first responder in emergency and crisis situations
• Performing other general nursing duties such as cardiac monitoring, catheter management, venipuncture, IVs, diabetic lines, etc.

LPN Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited educational institution
• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the State in which the position is located. The license MUST be in good standing
