Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the CCSD unit in Beckley, WV. This full-time, in-person role focuses on providing specialized intermediate-level care for patients requiring close monitoring following critical illness or complex conditions.

You will perform thorough assessments, initiate nursing interventions, and collaborate on care plans while documenting medical necessity and ensuring age-appropriate care. Six-month ACLS/PALS implementation is required.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license required.
• Associates or bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire; ACLS/PALS within six months.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care.
• Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record.
• Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.

More About Our Team

The CCSD Unit at Raleigh General Hospital provides specialized intermediate-level care for patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing support following critical illness, cardiac events, surgical procedures, or complex medical conditions. This fast-paced unit bridges the gap between intensive care and medical-surgical services, caring for patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and other high-acuity diagnoses. Nurses on the unit are skilled in cardiac monitoring, post-procedural care, telemetry interpretation, medication management, and patient/family education.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• ASLS certification preferred
