Job summary

Prime Healthcare at Southern Regional Medical Center–Riverdale, GA is seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse to support cardiac catheterization procedures in a fast-paced lab. The role focuses on pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure assistance, and post-procedure monitoring.

Requirements include a BSN preferred, active GA RN license, BCLS/ACLS certifications, and at least 1 year of CV Lab or CCU/ICU/ER experience.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Active RN license in Georgia required.
• BCLS and ACLS certifications required upon hire and maintained.
• One year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab or in a Critical Care area required.
• ICU or ER RN experience strongly considered.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, obtain medical histories, and prep for cardiac catheterization (pre-procedure).
• Assist cardiologists during angioplasties, stent placements, EP studies, and other cardiac interventions (intra-procedure).
• Monitor patients post-procedure and provide post-procedure instructions; ensure stability before discharge.
• Operate and troubleshoot catheterization lab equipment (hemodynamic monitors, etc.).
• Respond to emergencies (arrhythmias, MI, bleeding) during procedures.
• Document all aspects of patient care (pre, intra, post).
• Stay updated with advances in cardiac care and catheterization techniques.

We are seeking aCardiac Catheterization LaboratoryNurse, sometimes referred to as aCardiac RNor CathLabRN.A Cath Lab RN is essential in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of cardiac catheterization procedures, contributing significantly to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases specifically with the cardiac catheterization lab.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures (Pre-Procedure Preparation)
• Assist cardiologists during procedures such as angioplasties, stent placements, electrophysiological studies, and other cardiac interventions (Intra-Procedure Assistance)
• Monitoring patient post-procedure for complications, provide post-procedure instructions, and ensuring patient stability before discharge or transfer to another unit
• Operate and troubleshoot complex medical equipment used in the catheterization lab, such as hemodynamic monitors and other diagnostic tools
• Quickly respond to any emergencies or complications that arise during procedures, such as arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, or bleeding
• Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including pre-procedure assessments, intra-procedure details, and post-procedure outcomes
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac care and catheterization techniques

Qualifications

• Education, Experience, Training: 1. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred. 2. Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required. 3. Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required. 4. One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required. 5. ICU or ER RN experience RN's will be strongly considered.
