Cath Lab Tech
Location: Southern Regional Medical Center; Riverdale, GA
Full Time - C all required | Days |10-hour Shifts
Responsibilities
- A ssist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures, which involve threading catheters through blood vessels to diagnose and treat various heart /cardiovascular conditions
- E nsure that all necessary equipment, including catheters, monitors, and imaging devices, are properly set up and functioning before each procedure
- H elp prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring they are comfortable and properly positioned on the procedure table
- D uring procedures, monitor patients\' vital signs, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and hemodynamic data to ensure their safety and provide real-time information to the medical team
- M ay scrub in and assist the physician directly during the procedure, handling catheters, guidewires, and other equipment as needed
- A ccurately document all aspects of the procedure, including patient information, medications administered, and any complications that arise
- H elp transfer patients to recovery areas after the procedure, monitor their condition and provid e any necessary post-procedure instructions or assistance
- P articipate in quality assurance , quality improvement initiatives and training new staff to ensure that procedures are performed safely and effectively
- T rack the par level of all instruments and supplies, and provide support for both invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures in all capacities for the cardia c cath lab
QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Requires previous experience assisting with scrubbing procedures and monitoring data, preferably in a Cardiovascular Lab.
- Cardiovascular technician training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.
- BCLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required.
- Proficient computer skills.
