Job summary

Prime Healthcare at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA is seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist to join our Cath Lab team. The role supports diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures under physician oversight, scrubbing or monitoring as needed.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, patient preparation, real-time data monitoring, and post-procedure care. ACLS/BCLS certifications and prior cath lab experience are preferred; 10-hour days, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Requires previous experience assisting with scrubbing procedures and monitoring data.
• Cardiovascular lab experience preferred.
• BCLS (AHA) required on hire and maintained.
• ACLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures and support devices.
• Set up and verify all equipment (catheters, monitors, imaging) before procedures.
• Explain procedures to patients and position them for comfort and safety.
• Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic data during procedures and communicate findings.
• May scrub in and assist physician during procedures with catheters and guidewires.
• Document procedure details, medications, and any complications accurately.
• Assist with patient transfer to recovery and provide post-procedure instructions.
• Participate in quality assurance and training of new staff.
• Track instrument and supply par levels for cath lab operations.

Shifts Available: Days (Monday - Friday)

Hours: 10-hour Shifts- 7am or 8am start times

Location: Southern Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA

We are seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist, internally referred to as ourCardiac Interventional Technologistor Cath Lab/IR Technologist. Our Cath Lab Tech’s will operate under the oversight of a physician (either a Cardiologist or Radiologist). The role involves assisting in procedures by scrubbing or monitoring physiological and hemodynamic data relevant to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures conducted in the cardiovascular lab.

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures, which involve threading catheters through blood vessels to diagnose and treat various heart/cardiovascular conditions
• Ensure that all necessary equipment, including catheters, monitors, and imaging devices, are properly set up and functioning before each procedure
• Help prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring they are comfortable and properly positioned on the procedure table
• During procedures, monitor patients' vital signs, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and hemodynamic data to ensure their safety and provide real-time information to the medical team
• May scrub in and assist the physician directly during the procedure, handling catheters, guidewires, and other equipment as needed
• Accurately document all aspects of the procedure, including patient information, medications administered, and any complications that arise
• Help transfer patients to recovery areas after the procedure, monitor their condition and provide any necessary post-procedure instructions or assistance
• Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement initiatives and training new staff to ensure that procedures are performed safely and effectively
• Track the par level of all instruments and supplies, and provide support for both invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures in all capacities for the cardiaccathlab

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING1. Requires previous experience assisting with scrubbing procedures and monitoring data, preferably in a Cardiovascular Lab.2. Cardiovascular technician training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.3. BCLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current.4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required.5. Proficient computer skills.
