Responsibilities

• Operates and troubleshoots cath lab equipment (hemodynamic monitors, etc.).
• Respond promptly to emergencies in the lab (arrhythmias, MI, bleeding).
• Document all aspects of patient care from pre to post-procedure.
• Stay updated with advances in cardiac care and cath lab techniques.

We are seeking aCardiac Catheterization LaboratoryNurse, sometimes referred to as aCardiac RNor CathLabRN.A Cath Lab RN is essential in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of cardiac catheterization procedures, contributing significantly to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases specifically with the cardiac catheterization lab.

Responsibilities

** You must have experience in the Cath Lab or Critical Care area asa RNto move forward in this position.Critical Care RN with experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Room (ER) or Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVIC) are encouraged to apply.

• Assess patients, obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures (Pre-Procedure Preparation)

• Assistcardiologists during procedures such as angioplasties, stent placements, electrophysiological studies, and other cardiac interventions (Intra-Procedure Assistance)

• Monitoring patient post-procedure for complications, provide post-procedure instructions, and ensuring patient stability before discharge or transfer to another unit

• Operate and troubleshoot complex medical equipment used in the catheterization lab, such as hemodynamic monitors and other diagnostic tools

• Quickly respond to any emergencies or complications that arise during procedures, such as arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, or bleeding

• Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including pre-procedure assessments, intra-procedure details, and post-procedure outcomes

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac care and catheterization techniques

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING1. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred.2. Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required.3. Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required.4. One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.
