Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Cath Lab Tech for Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA. You will assist cardiologists during catheterization, ensure equipment is ready, and help prepare patients for procedures.

You will monitor vital signs, scrub in when needed, document procedures, and support post-procedure recovery. ACLS and BCLS are required on hire, with ongoing training to ensure safety and quality in invasive cardiovascular care.

Qualifications

• Requires prior experience scrubbing procedures and monitoring data in a Cardiovascular Lab
• Cardiovascular technician training with emphasis on invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred
• BCLS (AHA) required on hire and maintained
• ACLS required
• Proficient computer skills

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures and diagnose heart conditions
• Ensure equipment (catheters, monitors, imaging devices) is set up and functioning before procedures
• Explain procedures to patients and help position them for procedures
• Monitor vitals, EKGs and hemodynamic data during procedures and report to the team
• May scrub in and assist with devices during procedures
• Document all aspects of procedures including medications and complications
• Assist in transfer to recovery and provide post-procedure instructions
• Participate in quality assurance and training of new staff
• Track instrument par levels and support both invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures

Overview

Cath Lab Tech

Location: Southern Regional Medical Center; Riverdale, GA

Full Time - Call required | Days |10-hour Shifts

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures, which involve threading catheters through blood vessels to diagnose and treat various heart/cardiovascular conditions

• Ensure that all necessary equipment, including catheters, monitors, and imaging devices, are properly set up and functioning before each procedure

• Help prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring they are comfortable and properly positioned on the procedure table

• During procedures, monitor patients' vital signs, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and hemodynamic data to ensure their safety and provide real-time information to the medical team

• May scrub in and assist the physician directly during the procedure, handling catheters, guidewires, and other equipment as needed

• Accurately document all aspects of the procedure, including patient information, medications administered, and any complications that arise

• Help transfer patients to recovery areas after the procedure, monitor their condition and provide any necessary post-procedure instructions or assistance

• Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement initiatives and training new staff to ensure that procedures are performed safely and effectively

• Track the par level of all instruments and supplies, and provide support for both invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures in all capacities for the cardiac cath lab

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Requires previous experience assisting with scrubbing procedures and monitoring data, preferably in a Cardiovascular Lab.2. Cardiovascular technician training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.3. BCLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current.4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required.5. Proficient computer skills.
