Ascension is seeking a dedicated nurse for the Cardiovascular Surgical PCU in Pensacola. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care, closely monitoring patient progress, and ensuring smooth transitions from hospital to home.

You will act as the primary liaison among physicians, bedside staff, and families. The position requires a Florida RN license or eligibility, a Diploma in Nursing, and BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license required or obtain prior to hire.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or equivalent licensure.

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care by following established clinical standards and organizational protocols to maximize patient safety and comfort.
• Manage individualized patient care plans by continually monitoring health progress and adapting interventions to ensure optimal recovery and treatment outcomes.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary healthcare teams as the central point of contact, ensuring seamless communication and highly integrated care for every patient.
• Execute medical orders with precision, accurately noting and carrying out physician and nursing directives to maintain a safe, continuous healing environment.
• Champion smooth patient transitions by proactively assessing and planning for discharge needs alongside the healthcare team, setting patients up for success at home.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• At least a year of acute care bedside experience.
• Prior PCU experience
