Job summary

Ascension in Tulsa, OK seeks a skilled Registered Nurse for Cardiovascular Prep and Recovery. You will oversee the post-procedural recovery of cardiac and vascular patients, ensuring stable hemodynamics and vigilant monitoring of rhythm and status.

You will interpret real-time data, titrate specialized medications, and educate patients and families on long-term heart health while preventing complications.

Qualifications

  • RN credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
  • ACLS within 6 months (60 days) of hire; BLS within 1 month (30 days) of hire.
  • PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Guard cardiac recovery and manage post-procedural patients with precision.
  • Lead hemodynamic monitoring and detect changes in rhythm or status.
  • Monitor arterial/venous access, ensuring distal perfusion and preventing complications.

How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • In this specialized role, you serve as the critical guardian of cardiac recovery. You will manage patients coming off complex interventional procedures—such as angioplasties, stenting, or structural heart repairs—where precision and rapid assessment are vital.
  • Lead the post-procedural recovery of cardiac and vascular patients by expertly managing hemodynamic stability and monitoring for immediate changes in heart rhythm or status.
  • Master site-specific care and complication prevention by vigilantly monitoring arterial and venous access points, ensuring distal perfusion and preventing hematomas or bleeding.
  • Evaluate and titrate specialized interventions by interpreting real-time data and managing cardiac-specific medications to ensure the heart transitions safely from a procedural to a recovery state.
  • Empower patients and families through education by translating complex cardiac recovery protocols into clear, actionable steps for their long-term heart health.
  • Anticipate and mitigate procedural risks by utilizing your knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy to identify early signs of vascular distress or cardiac events before they become critical.
What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
