Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH is seeking a registered nurse to join the Cardiac Step Down Unit, 7 East. The role focuses on telemetry, IV titration, patient assessment, and teamwork with PCNAs, interns, and providers.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Ohio RN licensure.
• BLS for healthcare providers or obtained within 90 days.
• ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BSN preferred and Magnet certification recognized.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on Cardiac Step Down Unit, 7 East.
• Monitor patients with telemetry and interpret EKGs.
• Titrate IV medications and respond to changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with PCNAs, interns, providers, teletechs, and therapists.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, delegation, and time management in a fast-paced unit.

Location: MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7p-7a; rotation based on unit need; every other weekend; every other holiday

Primary Patient Population:

• Congestive Heart Failure

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• EKG interpretation
• IV Medication titration
• Critical thinking, delegating, time management

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Telemetry Technicians, PT, OT

Number of beds on unit:

• 28 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
