Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Step-Down Unit, 7 West, in Ohio. You will care for high-acuity patients, perform EKG interpretation, manage central lines, and assist with bedside procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Required: Ohio RN license, BLS (within 90 days), ACLS (within 6 months). Rotation includes weekends/holidays with rotating shifts and a sign-on bonus for eligible experienced RNs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• AHA Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certification, or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS certification, or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Care for medically complex patients in a Critical Care Step-Down unit (7 West).
• Perform and interpret EKGs; manage central lines and ventilator/Trach support as needed.
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies) and emergencies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, effective delegation, and time management in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Patient Population:

• Congestive Heart Failure
• COPD
• DKA
• Sepsis

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• EKG interpretation
• Central Line care
• Rescue Bi-pap, High Flow Oxygen, Trach/Vents,
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies)
• Critical thinking, delegating, time management

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT, OT

Number of beds on unit:24 beds
